Not as darkening as navy blue or purple.
I will say they are 90% room darkening. If you really want 100% room darkening, go for darker colours like purple or navy blue of SS Furnishings.

The curtains are very effective at darkening the room. I didn't believe they could also cut noise, but they do. Ambient sound is muffled by around 70%. The material is of good quality and hangs well, has a satin look to it. The finish could be better-- stitching is not complete in some of the ties and there are a few loose threads at the hems. These are minor flaws. Overall excellent quality. I bought two shades of green, to mix on the windows.

It really does block out light nearly completely. And cools the room down. While the material looks good and hangs well the stitching is poorly finished with crooked lines and thread hanging. It shows only on the back of the curtain. I would buy these again. Costs less than similar ones on Amazon.
